4 recommended hostels around Shirakawa-go village.

Shirakawa-go is a little peaceful village between Kanazawa and Takayama. It is designated as a world heritage site for its Gassho style house.

There are 4 hostels (Guesthouse) around the village where you can stay in a dorm room at a reasonable price.

Make a reservation at least 3 months before during the peak season. (The peak season is winter because there are a lot of Asian tourists who go to see the village with SNOW!)

jut0002-004Shirakawa-gō is becoming very popular tourists spots among foreign tourists nowdays.

Here is a brief explanation about Shirakawa-gō on Wikipedia for those who do not know it.

Shirakawa (白川村 Shirakawa-mura?) is a village located in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is best known for being the site of Shirakawa-gō, a small, traditional village showcasing a building style known as gasshō-zukuri.

In spite of the popularity, it is quite difficult to get there especially for foreigners. So I try to explain how to get to Shirakawa-gō as easy as possible.

Here are the 2 ways to go to Shirakawa-gō from Kanazawa.
